Multi-disciplinary Interoperability Challenges
Multi-disciplinary interoperability is essential to underpin the Earth System Science and contribute to address the challenges raised by the global changes. In fact, the scope and complexity of the Earth system investigations demand for the formation of distributed, multidisciplinary collaborative teams. Earth system analysis is a challenge for scientists as much as it is for information technology experts.
The seminar presents and discusses researches and developments dealing with multi-disciplinary interoperability with particular reference to the on-going initiatives: INSPIRE and GEO/GEOSS. The addressed topics include: - The Digital Earth infrastructural interoperability;
- From SOA to Internet of Services;
- Digital divide: connecting the GIS and Earth Observation realms;
- Uncertainty-enabled data and services;
- The Future Internet.
